Jamie Edwards appointed CEO of Canada

Jamie comes to MediaCom from Aegis Media's digital marketing agency Isobar, where he led global client services for some of the world's largest marketers across multiple markets.

In his new role, Jamie will be responsible for the management and operations of all MediaCom activities across Canada.  Headquartered in Toronto, MediaCom Canada is the largest media agency in the country, with over $885 million in billings, according to RECMA.

Jamie will assume the role effective November 9th, and will report into Doug Checkeris, CEO, MediaCom North America.  He replaces Amanda Ploughman who recently resigned from the company after leading the agency for the past three years.

"Jamie has the skill and experience in client leadership, digital marketing and insight-driven communication planning to bring exciting, new, world-class thinking to our clients," said Checkeris.  "We have been strengthening our leadership across North America. The addition of Jamie to the team will bolster both the important Canadian market, as well as our shared capabilities across the entire region."

Jamie has over 14 years of experience running media and marketing accounts for global clients. Prior to joining MediaCom, he built and led the global client management function for Isobar, overseeing the seamless integration of digital investment across Aegis Media's global client roster.  His leadership spanned a diversity of clients, including Johnson & Johnson, Fox, Panasonic, Renault, Mattel, Lego and SCA digital.

Prior to joining Isobar, Jamie held top leadership positions at Aegis Media's Vizeum.  After leading new business and marketing for Vizeum Global across 33+ markets, he was tapped to launch and run Vizeum USA, where he managed key clients including Schick, Rayban, Eurostar and Foster's wines.   Before joining Isobar, Edwards was global account director for Aegis Media's Carat International.   He started his career as a media planner and buyer at Booth Locket Makin.

Jamie is an honors graduate of Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh, with a degree in business.
